What is the maximum number of kids Sparkles can facilitate at a Birthday Party?
Our limit is about 30 kids. The arts & crafts area is quite spacious but the refreshment area does become cozy with 30 or so kids and accompanying adults.

My son just turned 4. Should he be in the Young Artists, Young Artists PLUS or Art Adventure program, as the ages seem to overlap?
The ages for certain of Sparkles programs do overlap. Once a child has turned 3 years old, you can choose either Young Artists or Young Artists PLUS. Both of these programs offer multiple, theme-based activities in each class. The biggest differences are that kids in the PLUS program work independently from the adult (who must stay at Sparkles but wait in a separate area) while the Young Artists is a “Mom & Me” format and can be great “together time”. In addition, the PLUS program offers a little more challenge and structure.
Once a child turns 4 years old, he or she is also welcome into the Art Adventure series. The theme in Art Adventure is the same as the Young Artists and PLUS themes but, instead of multiple small projects, kids work on a single project each class. We recommend younger 4 year olds, with still developing concentration levels, try the Young Artists or PLUS series while those who sit well and enjoy the focus and concentration a single project entails may enjoy the Art Adventure activities more.
Note that Sparkles is almost always receptive to a transfer between two age-appropriate programs.

Do you provide smocks for the kids at your activities?
For birthday parties, Sparkles does provide smocks, but we also encourage party hosts to advise their guests that it is an arts & crafts party and that play clothes would be suggested. For program series, personalized smocks are available for purchase or customers are welcome to bring their own. In either case, “arts & crafts-friendly” clothing is suggested.

At your parties, can we bring in other food besides the pizza and cupcakes you offer?
Yes, many party hosts opt to bring in sandwiches or fruit or vegetable platters. We do not, however, allow anything which requires on-site heating and we strongly discourage glass containers. Alcohol is also prohibited.

When I choose the “Special Party Project” for my child’s party, can I pick one for the boys and a different one for the girls?
Although most of Sparkles’ choices are great for both boys and girls, you are welcome to pick different ones. In addition, if you have 2 age groups attending, we can also provide for different Special Party Projects. However, the choices do have to be pre-determined, as we are not able to give each child a choice the day of the party.

Can we attend one of your class programs and just pay each time we come rather than for the number of visits remaining in a series?
No, our class programs are only available as a part of a once per week series, although since we “pro-rate” our series fee, kids can start in the middle of a series. If you are looking for just an occasional visit, try one of our “Walk-In” activities.

How many helpers would be at a Sparkles party?
The number of helpers varies based on the size of the party and in some cases, the selected activities (for example, face painting, or the choice to upgrade to include both sand art and spin art). There are always at least 2 helpers and frequently more except for our Supersaver “Starving Artist Package” which is for a maximum of 10 children and which may have 1 helper.

Do you have a camp program for the summer?
No, Sparkles continues its once per week program series throughout the summer with additional Program Series and “Walk-in” times available and some supplemental activities including an “extended stay option” for a total of 2 ½ hours for children at least 5 years old.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Sparkles accepts cash, check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover.
